Glancerange policies
Terms of service
Last updated 2 September 2026
This is the agreement between you and Glancerange. Two parts of it are unusual enough to point at from here: the arbitration agreement with a class action waiver in section 14, which you can opt out of by sending one email within thirty days and lose nothing by doing, and the fact that an allowance is a service allowance and never money.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and 1789 Apparel LLC, a Florida limited liability company, trading as Glancerange. Using the service means you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
2. What the service is
Glancerange calculates the relationship between printed type and the distance it is read from. Given a line of text, a placement and a distance, it returns a cap height in millimetres and its point equivalent, a line-break plan, a written account of which words remain readable at one, three and five metres, and a set of simulated views.
The figures are computed arithmetically in your browser from the sign industry’s established cap-height-to-viewing-distance rules. The simulated views are geometric resamplings, not measurements or photographs. What they cannot include is set out on how the numbers are produced and is repeated on every result you receive.
3. What the service will not do
Glancerange does not read, assess, rank or comment on what your text says. It does not write copy, rewrite copy, shorten a line for effect, or suggest different wording. It does not recommend a typeface on the basis of a message. It has no view about the subject of your text and it is not built to acquire one.
This is not the same thing as having no rules at all. The acceptable use policy prohibits unlawful material, hate and harassment, and use of somebody else’s trademark or copyrighted text. That is a platform floor rather than a judgement about lawful opinions.
Glancerange is not a printer, does not print anything, does not take print orders and does not quote for print work.
4. Accounts
You must be at least thirteen years old to use this service. It is not offered to children under thirteen and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are between thirteen and eighteen, use it with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us at once if you think somebody else has it.
5. Plans, prices and tax
The service is sold as a free plan and two paid subscription plans. Prices are quoted in US dollars (USD) and exclude tax. Sales tax is calculated at checkout from the address you give and is shown before you authorise a payment. The total shown at checkout is the total charged.
The free plan takes no card, does not expire, and never converts into a paid subscription. There is no free trial of a paid plan on this service, and therefore nothing that begins charging you at the end of one.
6. Allowances
- An allowance is a service allowance. It is not money, it is not stored value, it cannot be redeemed for cash and it cannot be transferred to anybody else.
- Allowances reset at the start of each billing period. Anything unused at the end of a period does not carry over.
- There is no way to buy extra allowance on its own. If you run out, wait for the reset or move to a plan with a larger one.
In plain terms: an allowance is not money, not stored value, not redeemable for cash and not transferable.
7. Subscriptions, renewal and consent
Before you subscribe, one screen sets out the plan, the amount, the date of the first charge, the fact that it renews automatically and how to cancel. Nothing on that screen is collapsed, hidden behind a link or set smaller than the text around it. You then tick a separate box, which is not ticked for you, confirming that you agree to that amount being charged on that schedule until you cancel.
A subscription renews automatically at the same amount and interval until you cancel it. We send a receipt after every charge setting out the amount, the plan, the schedule and a direct link to cancel. Once a year we send a separate reminder that the subscription is running, what it costs and how to end it. That reminder is its own email; it does not carry marketing and it is not bundled into anything else.
If a price changes, we will tell you by email at least thirty days before the change takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
8. Cancelling
You cancel in your account, in two clicks: Billing, then Cancel subscription. There is no telephone call, no email, no support ticket, no retention offer and no sequence of screens asking you to reconsider. Cancelling is at least as easy as subscribing was, and it takes effect on the next renewal.
Your plan continues to work until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are covered in the cancellation and refunds policy, which we follow exactly as written.
9. Your content
The lines you type stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to process the text, produce a specification and a set of views, and store them if you choose to save a project. Nothing you type is used to train a model, sold, or shared for anybody else’s advertising.
10. Accuracy, and what this service does not promise
The arithmetic is correct and the inputs are yours. What the service cannot know is set out in full on every result: the light the garment will be read in, the angle it will be read from, how far ink spreads on your particular cloth, the typeface you finally print in, and whether anybody is looking at all. A specification produced here is a starting point for a print decision, not a guarantee about a finished garment.
We do not exclude or limit anything that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing here excludes liability for fraud or for wilful misconduct. Except for that, and to the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to this service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some states do not allow certain limitations of liability or exclusions of incidental or consequential damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaks the acceptable use policy, that is being used to attack the service, or that we are required by law to close. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to put it right, and we refund the unused part of a period if we close a paid account for a reason that is not your fault.
12. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may change the service. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you by email at least thirty days beforehand and you can cancel before it takes effect. We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page always says when, and material changes are emailed to account holders.
13. Ending the agreement
You may stop using the service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive the end of the agreement do so, including sections 9, 10, 14 and 15.
14. Arbitration agreement and class action waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes between you and us are resolved, and it limits the ways in which you can bring a claim.
Except as set out below, you and we agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to this service or these terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by a recognised arbitration provider under its consumer rules, rather than in court, and that each of us waives any right to bring or participate in a class action, collective action or representative proceeding.
This does not apply to small claims. Either of us may bring an individual claim in a small claims court with jurisdiction, and nothing in this section prevents that.
You can opt out, and it costs you nothing to do so. Send an email to support@1789apparell.shop with the subject line Arbitration opt-out and your account email address, within thirty days of first accepting these terms. That is all that is required. Opting out has no effect on your account, your price, your plan or the service you receive, and we will not treat you differently for it. If you opt out, disputes are resolved in the courts identified below.
Arbitration is individual. An arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding. If this paragraph is found unenforceable, the whole of this section 14 is void.
15. Governing law and forum
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Where a dispute is not subject to arbitration, it will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of the protection of mandatory rules of the place where they live.
16. Everything else
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a provision on one occasion does not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours to a successor to the business, on notice to you.
